Do You See in Lab Mode? Or in RGB?

Any Photoshop user knows that achieving better color with a picture requires a little effort--but we also know that in the end it's worth it! In this week's episode of dekePod 003: Don't Fear the Lab Mode, Deke McClelland walks us through what you need to know in order to change your photos from "ok" to "brilliant."

He starts by comparing RGB and CMKY to Lab Mode, explaining that anyone, including Goliath the robot from the last podcast, could use the first two. However, he also says that any human can use Lab Mode, and it doesn't have to be as scary as it seems at first.

In Deke's blog, he states,

"...It isn't hard. In fact, it's so unhard -- I hesitate to mention this because I don't want to spoil the surprise -- but the technique relies on one of the most brain-dead commands in all of Photoshop, Brightness/Contrast. (Which is a good command now. You know that, right?)"

So do you have any pictures laying around the house that didn't turn out quite how you thought they would? Open up Photoshop, watch the podcast, and start making your pictures better than they've ever been before.
