"One of the things I"m going to touch on is that we were all born to be a little bit different, we all were not made to be complete clones of each other, because we are all called to leave a different mark on this earth. We were all made intentionally different." According to Nancy Duarte, author of slide:ology: The Art and Science of Creating Great Presentations, we're often afraid to unleash our natural storytelling instincts because we're afraid to be different—afraid to stand out from our corporate norm. And this leads to presentations that put our audiences to sleep—or worse—fail to communicate the information that we hope to convey.
Nancy's personal crusade is to fight bad design. In this one-hour presentation called You are a Natural Born (Visual) Storyteller she shows you how to infuse life, intelligence, and good design into your presentations. If you missed her live webcast, you can view it here, or visit the O'Reilly Media channel on YouTube and watch it in higher resolution (click the "High Quality" button under the movie. That button hasn't appeared as of this posting—it takes while longer to process—but it will be there shortly).
